About us

About NewcomerFi

We help people who are new to the United States compare banking, credit-building and international money-transfer options with confidence.

Our mission

Moving to the U.S. means rebuilding your financial life from scratch: proving your address, opening an account, understanding fees, and establishing a credit history. Product websites are written for people who already live here, and terms change often. NewcomerFi collects the details that matter to newcomers in one place and explains them in plain language.

Who NewcomerFi is for

Our primary audience is anyone arriving in the United States—students, professionals, families, refugees and entrepreneurs—who needs to choose a first financial product. We focus on products that do not require a long U.S. credit history, accept an ITIN or passport, or are otherwise reachable early in your U.S. journey.

Why we created NewcomerFi

The site was built out of direct experience with the friction of starting over financially in a new country. We wanted a comparison resource that treats the newcomer as the main user, not an afterthought. That means clear eligibility requirements, upfront fees, and links back to official sources so you can verify claims yourself.

What we are not

NewcomerFi is a publisher and referral service, not a bank, lender, money transmitter, credit adviser or immigration adviser. Providers make the final approval decisions. We do not guarantee that you will qualify for any product listed on the site.

Operator identity

NewcomerFi is independently operated. We disclose compensation arrangements where they exist and keep editorial decisions separate from business relationships. You can read more about that in our affiliate disclosure and editorial policy.
