Privacy policy

What we collect

• Start here path: optional routing choices are processed in your browser. Following a comparison link passes only the choices needed for that step through temporary storage in the same tab; that handoff is removed when the comparison opens and expires after 15 minutes. We do not create a saved profile or send these choices to the product finder until you explicitly submit that finder. You can clear path choices from the path or comparison page. The Start here page does not load our analytics tag.
• Usage data: pages viewed, clicks, rough device and browser information, and referral sources.
• Questionnaire answers: if you use the product finder, we store your responses so we can show matching products.
• Contact form submissions: name, email, subject and message when you write to us.
• Correction reports: product reference, category, message and optional email.
• Affiliate referrals: clicks on provider links may include tracking parameters so providers can attribute referrals to us.

Cookies and analytics

We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand how visitors use the site. We do not sell your personal information. Google Analytics measures entry pages, referral campaigns, navigation, comparison actions, product-finder progress and errors, results views, and provider clicks. We send step numbers and whether a question was answered, without sending the answers or private results tokens to Google. Analytics is disabled on Start here, account and administration pages, and when your browser sends Do Not Track. Google Analytics may set cookies; you can manage cookies through your browser settings.

How we use your information

We use collected data to:

• Keep the site running and secure.
• Improve product comparisons and content.
• Respond to questions and correction reports.
• Measure affiliate referrals and traffic.

Retention

Usage analytics are retained for the period required by our analytics provider. Contact and correction submissions are kept until the issue is resolved, after which they are anonymized or deleted unless we need to retain them for legal purposes.

Third-party links

Our site links to provider websites. Each provider has its own privacy policy and we are not responsible for their practices.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you have provided through the contact form or correction form by emailing privacy@newcomerfi.com.
